Dr. Davis grew up in the small town of Colleyville, Texas. Her childhood was spent playing tennis and watching sports, two things that are still important to her. She graduated from the University of Texas in Austin with a BBA in Marketing, while always planning to go into Medicine. After college she was awarded a Rotary Goodwill Scholarship and decided to defer medical school for a chance to live in a foreign country, as one of her dreams was to travel. She studied English Literature for one year at University of Warwick in Coventry, England and was awarded a postgraduate diploma.
After living abroad in England, she came home to Texas to attend the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston, and received her Medical Doctorate in 1996. She completed her Family Medicine Residency in Salt Lake City, and became Board Certified in Family Medicine in 1999.
She and her husband moved to Boise originally for his job as a Biology Professor at the College of Idaho in 2000. She started Davis Family Medicine in 2003 and has been in the same location since 2005.
Dr. Davis has two daughters and an incredibly supportive husband. They love to travel and spend time outdoors in Idaho’s incredible wilderness. They also love their dog, Izzie, and Izzie goes everywhere with them. Dr. Davis’ interests includes mountain biking, hiking, fly fishing, skiing, tennis, and playing ukulele. She still supports the Longhorns and will discuss the merits of their football program anytime.
Emily graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Dietetics and certificate in Gender and Women’s Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and received her Masters of Physician Assistant Studies from Idaho State University in 2014. Since then, she has enjoyed working in family medicine with people of all ages. She places strong emphasis on healthy lifestyle and joint decision making with patients. In her free time, Emily can be found spending time with her husband, daughter, and dog, Lemon. Emily’s other interests outside of work include hiking, travel, and cooking.
Tara, an Arizona native, is dedicated to developing meaningful relationships with her patients through a holistic, collaborative approach. She promotes open, compassionate communication with patients to provide a safe environment for crafting personalized treatment plans to achieve health goals. Passionate about global health, Tara has served with the Peace Corps and worked with the World Health Organization and the Center for Disease Control in West Africa. In her free time she enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband and two sons. She received a Masters in Public Health from University of Arizona and a Masters of Nursing from Frontier University in Kentucky. She has been working as a Family Nurse Practitioner since 2015. She is certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.
Melisa is an Idaho native and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Radiologic Sciences from Boise State University. After living abroad for several years, she returned home to receive her Masters of Physician Assistant Studies from Idaho State University. She believes shared decision making between patient and provider improves health outcomes, and enjoys building relationships with those she meets. She has professional interests in pediatrics, women’s health, LGBTQIA+, and acute care. Melisa enjoys the many outdoor adventures available year-round with her husband and pup, Onyx.
Indi has been working hard as the Davis Family Medicine greeter since the wee age of 12 weeks old. You will often find her in the waiting room as she loves to be the first to greet you to our clinic. Feel free to say hello next time you see her, she is very friendly. She will gladly accept a treat or a belly rub while you are waiting to be checked-in and you’ll quickly have a new best friend.
As a new member to the staff, Izzy hopes to learn all she can from her mentors Sage and Karly. If Izzy finds a moment of free time, she enjoys sniffing, chasing, eating, and long leisurely walks through the neighborhood. Feel free to say hi to our newest furry staff member.
Ball, Duck, Squirrel. Lemon is an absolute love. She enjoys playing fetch, swimming the river and taking extended naps in the sun. She prides herself on being the best big sister and bringing comfort to patients.
